Most often the word Black is associated with negative connotations, such as Evil, Ominous, Lazy, Death, Aggressive, Blacklisted, Blackmail, Blackballed, and Black Humor. However, as it relates to the world of finance, the word Black, especially, the term “In The Black,” describes a “place” where everyone positively aspires to be.
No matter your race, creed, or language, in business, it is universally understood from Wall Street to Martin Luther King Ave that “In The Black, means having positive net income and making a profit.
InTheBlack, LLC is a company dedicated to inspire, inform and educate Black entrepreneurs through our coaching, convening and communications. We C.A.R.E. for the entrepreneur’s total well being and success. More to the point, WE:
CONNECT people who aspire to be millionaires with people who are millionaires;
ACCELERATE entrepreneur’s knowledge, skills and processes as they sojourn along the entrepreneurial path;
REINFORCE the entrepreneur's confidence in their ability to stay in the black;

Meet Tasha & Will
Nationally recognized “mompreneur”, Latasha Lewis is a serial entrepreneur. Over the last 20 years, Latasha has used her love for others and her entrepreneurial spirit to fuel her passion and energy to build strong brands that help people from marginalized communities to reimaging the possibilities for their lives. She and her eleven-year-old son Camden, are co-founders of Cam’s Coffee Company. The first organization to create gainful employment opportunities specifically for individuals with varying ability levels in the Piedmont Triad area in North Carolina. Latasha is an accomplished
program and curriculum development thought leader, with experience in teaching, education and business development. She holds degrees’ in early childhood education, elementary education, science education and is completing a doctorate in curriculum, instruction and assessment, from Walden University. She is a passionate advocate for the differently-abled. She knows first-hand the obstacles parents and caregivers face raising children with challenges, as she is the mother of two differently-abled sons. Her oldest son is on the autism spectrum and her youngest son is impacted by a traumatic brain injury. By embracing the entrepreneurial mindset Latasha has found relevant strategies to support her sons and
countless number of others as they strive to live their best lives.
Her latest endeavor, In The Black, she partners with her husband, Dr. William T. Lewis, to create a movement to inform, inspire and educate Black entrepreneurs.
Dr. William T. Lewis, nationally recognized diversity and inclusion thought leader, entrepreneur and executive coach, has authored several articles, most notably, he was one of three co-authors of the historic Standards of Professional Practice for the Chief Diversity Officers, published by the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE). He co-authored “From Their Mouths: The Lived Experiences of Chief Diversity Officers in Higher Education", with Dr. Ken Coopwood.
His thought leadership has appeared in regionally and nationally recognized media outlets such as New England Public Radio, FAST COMPANY, and INSIGHT Into Diversity. Throughout his career Lewis has provided administrative leadership for diversity and inclusion initiatives. He has been an advisor and consultant to university presidents, and corporate executives.
Lewis, is a former Chief Diversity Officer, he has led diversity and inclusion efforts at three highly acclaimed colleges and universities-- Indiana University, Bridgewater State University and Virginia Tech University. Currently, Lewis is the Special Consultant to the President for Belonging, Equity and Inclusion at and Forsyth Technical Community College.
Lewis is also co-founder of CoopLew, LLC, www.cooplew.com. The company leading the next paradigm of transformative diversity leadership and Cam's Coffee Co.,
He has dedicated his entire professional to living the spirit of his social work background by "providing a voice for the voiceless and creating inclusive spaces for each person to reach their full potential.”
Dr. Lewis, earned a doctoral degree from Indiana University, and a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Purdue University.
Lewis proudly and honorably served his country for 8 years while in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
